READ, READ, READ!!
Each year our students are challenged to READ READ READ! to support our school. The Read-a-thon is an annual weeks long school-wide reading event that encourages students to read for pleasure, alone or with family or friends. The Read-a-thon is focused on the amount of time a student reads. Any and all minutes count! Each child sets their own reading challenge, to read a certain number of minutes per day, in return for pledges from family and friends.
WHY PARTICIPATE?
The money raised by the Readathon provides for:,
· Special projects not covered by the school budget, including a theatre production, the outdoor classroom, the teaching garden and field trip subsidies for each grade,
· Teacher Grants that allow teachers to enhance their classroom with items such, as books, document cameras, headphones and more!,
· Enrichment materials for math, art, science, and music to be provided to all students,
· Special events like author presentations, writing workshops, STEM workshops, and more
